Product description Can't decide between an SD or DS pedal? Why not have both with Robert Keeley's own DS-9 Distortion Pedal. Both sonic styles offered by this pedal became popular in the '80s, creating tones that defined a generation of axe-slingers such as Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, both of whom had their classic pedals modified by Robert Keeley. The SD side of the pedal, based off the Maxon SD-9 pedal, is notorious for its low-end response. Keeley added a cutoff knob so you can tailor that low-end response to add articulation. Switch to the DS side and you'll be greeted with iconic BOSS DS-1 distortion. Like the SD side, the DS side also benefits from the cutoff control, enabling further shaping of the bass frequencies. Controls - SD/DS Switch: SD mode selects routs your signal through a distortion circuit reminiscent of a Maxon SD-9, while the DS mode evokes distortion sounds similar to the classic BOSS DS-1
- Dist: Turning clockwise adds more gain and saturation for thicker tones
- Cutoff: Adjusts the high-pass filter, in SD mode turning to the right trims low-end frequencies to remove any excess boom, in the DS mode turning to the left introduces a bass boost
- Tone: Turn right for brighter sounds, left for darker sounds
- Level: Controls the final output level of the pedal
