Product description Why have just one effect in a compact enclosure when you can have three? Keeley's Mod Workstation Pedal has an eclectic combination of three effects sections, a drive/boost section, a distortion section, and an extremely flexible modulation section with 8 different effects available. Real time control of the modulation section can be had using the tap tempo input for a momentary footswitch. If you prefer to run the modulation section in your amplifiers effects loop, run a TRS Y cable into the Insert jack and enjoy high fidelity, post-preamp modulation. Effects Sections - 1962/Katana Drive/Boost
- First up is the 1962/Katana Boost section. With the 1962/Katana channel, you can dial in a sound with just the right amount of break up with the 1962 circuit, or use it in Katana Boost mode for a clean boost, which is just the right thing to push your amp into overdrive. The 1962 circuit is based off the Keeley pedal of the same name. This circuit layers JFETs (transistors) to recreate the response of tube preamp and power sections found in vintage British amplifiers like the Blues Breaker. Use the Gain Tone and Level controls to tweak your tone. Flip the switch to engage the Katana circuit for a clean boost. In the Katana Mode, only the volume works; the Tone and Drive are disabled. Some would argue you won't need them anyways.
- Oxblood Distortion
- Keeley's Oxblood is one of their most popular pedals, and it's distortion circuit is featured in this workstation pedal. Level, Drive, and Tone controls let you shape the distortion sound to go from subtle overdrive to outright fuzz. Also brought over from the Oxblood pedal is the Phat switch. When engaged, a bass boost is added to the Oxblood, beefing up the tone section.
- Modulation Section
- Select from 8 fully tweakable modulation effects including tremolo, chorus, double-tracking, flanger, and more on the selection knob. The Morph control is specific for each effect for granular control.
Available Effects:- 1 - Tremolo: Standard volume (amplitude) modulation, Morph control adjusts the shape of the waveform from triangle to square
- 2 - Harmonic Tremolo: Reminiscent of a 1960's brown-face amplifier that splits the high and low frequencies and modulates them separately, Morph control adjusts the low and high-pass filters
- 3 - Filter: Similar to blending vibe and an auto-wah effects, Morph control adjusts the LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator), turning full clockwise forces a random sample & hold filter akin to older Maestro units for a Frank Zappa Ship Ahoy sound
- 4 - Phaser: A classic four-stage phaser, Morph control adjusts feedback
- 5 - ADT: Keeley's classic Automatic Double-Tracker with up to 60 ms of delay and up to 60 cents of detuning, Morph control blends the doubled voice with the dry signal
- 6 - Analog Chorus/Vibrato: Choose between Chorus and Vibrato, or blend the two using the Morph control
- 7 - Flanger: Simple flanger effect, Morph control adjusts feedback
- 8 - Rotary Speaker: Reminiscent of a Leslie cabinet, Morph control blends the horn (treble frequencies) for fine-tuning the timbre
