Product description Keeley's Tone Workstation Pedal is a complete front-end gain structure solution for your signal chain. Inside one compact chassis you get three independently controlled effect channels: a compressor channel, a boost/drive channel, and a dedicated drive channel. Each section can elicit a wide range of tones, making for a pedal that can fit in nearly any style of music from country to blues to rock-n-roll. Effects Sections - Keeley Compressor
- The first stop for your guitar's signal is the Keeley Compressor. Adjust the Sustain control for increased compression or squeeze. As you add sustain, your notes will ring out longer. The Blend control allows for a Manhattan-style compression, keeping the sound lively and crisp as you blend in your natural guitar tone. When the Blend is set completely counter-clockwise, you get only the compressed signal. Turning up the Blend control mixes in more and more of your original dry signal, up to a 50/50 ratio. The Blend control is perfect for adding a little bit of bite back in with high output pickups or humbuckers. In addition, the Treble Boost switch can be engaged to further increase the treble and sparkle into the signal when using lots of compression. The attack and release times are pre-set in this compressor and are set for use with humbuckers or single coils.
- 1962/Katana Drive/Boost
- Next up is the 1962/Katana Boost section. With the 1962/Katana channel, you can dial in a sound with just the right amount of break up with the 1962 circuit, or use it in Katana Boost mode, for a clean boost, just the right thing to push your amp into overdrive. The 1962 circuit is based off the Keeley pedal of the same name. This circuit layers JFETs (transistors) to recreate the response of tube preamp and power sections found in vintage British amplifiers like the Blues Breaker. Use the Gain Tone and Level controls to tweak your tone. Flip the switch to engage the Katana circuit for a clean boost. In the Katana Mode, only the volume works; the Tone and Drive are disabled. Some would argue you won't need them anyways.
- Red Dirt Overdrive
- The last stop in the gain stage is the Red Dirt Overdrive. The Red Dirt contains Robert Keeley's experience in modifying classic Tubescreamer circuits in its own construction. Featuring a JFET front-end the Red Dirt has the perfect amount of crucial midrange coupled with the option to go all the way from clean and clear with the switch in the Mod+ position to super-saturated gain in the Baked position. This gain circuit is a perfect companion to the 1962/Katana section for gain-stacking resulting in an even more saturated tone.
