Product description Kenko's 77mm Astro LPR Type II Filter is an invaluable tool for long-exposure wide-field astrophotography and imaging where light pollution is an issue. When using long-exposure techniques in high light-pollution areas, images can often be over-exposed or have low contrast due to excessive surface light from street lamps. Employing Ion Assisted Deposition (IAD) technology, multiple layers of optical coatings are applied to the filter glass that are engineered to block the light emitted from the most common types of street lights, especially gas-charging mercury lamps and gas-charging sodium lamps, to effectively block this unnecessary light and making images clear with high-contrast. The Type II filter will not change the color balance of the image, so colors remain true.This 77mm model of LPR II filter is designed for use on spotting scopes, DSLR lenses, or telescope objective lenses. When used on camera lenses, Kenko recommends 100mm telephoto lenses or longer as color shift may occur on shorter focal length lenses.
