Product description Creative Lens Effects That Add to Your Story Read More The Kood A Series 2x Diffraction Filter is designed for use with a Kood A Series or Cokin A Series Filter Holder. When used perpendicular to a point light source such as the sun, a light bulb, or a candle; fine etched lines within the filter help to create a starburst effect with two primary multicolored diffraction spikes that surround the light source. This is due to the ability of those etched lines to separate light into its component low frequency and high frequency wavelengths, resulting in distinguishable colors ranging from red to blue within those starbursts.
This filter is most effective for pictures where the light source used to generate the starburst effect is a highlight with a significant degree of contrast from the rest of the image. The frame the Kood A Series 2x Diffraction Filter is mounted in features side knurlings so that the filter can be easily rotated while placed within a compatible holder in order to adjust the direction of the diffraction spikes and overall orientation of the starburst effect. -
