Product description The Kramer PT-571HDCP DVI over Twisted Pair Transmitter converts a DVI signal for transmission over a shielded twisted pair (STP) cable (CAT-5, CAT-6, or CAT-7a). DVI is a great protocol for digital display, but only over short cable runs. To extend DVI signals across a facility, one excellent option is converting the signal for transmission over a twisted pair cable. This enables the signal to travel lengths in the hundreds of feet, not the mere 15 or 30 allowed by DVI cables. The PT-571HDCP has one 29-pin DVI-I input and one CAT-5 (RJ-45 connector) output for STP cable. (Only the digital DVI-D signal is available on the connector.) To convert the twisted-pair signal back to a DVI signal, use the Kramer PT-572HDCP Receiver (not included). The maximum supported date rate is 1.65 Gb/s, which provides plenty of bandwidth for HDTV formats. The range of the device's transmission varies based on the signal resolution, graphics card, display, and cables used. Kramer has tested the device with their own cables. The device transmits up to 295 ft at SXGA, or up to 98 ft at UXGA on shielded BC-DGKat524 cable. Using shielded BC-DGKat623 cable, the range extends to 295 ft at SXGA or up to 230 ft at UXGA. With shielded BC-DGKat723 cable the range is up to 330 ft at SXGA or up to 265 ft at UXGA. Note: Use only shielded cable where both ends of the shield are soldered to ground. - Power Connect System: A single 12V DC connection to the transmitter powers both the transmitter and the PT-572HDCP receiver (not included) when the devices are within 150 ft of each other.
- Pass Through: Passes EDID, HPD, and HDCP signals from source to display.
- PicoTOOLS line: As part of Kramer's ultra-compact PicoTOOLS line, 4 similar-sized units can be rack mounted side-by-side in a 1U rack space with the optional RK-4PT rack adapter (not included).
