Product description Kramer's VS-40FW 4-Port FireWire 800 Repeater/Hub features a max data rate of 800Mbps. The VS-40W also increases the number of ports at your disposal - including 4 FireWire 800 ports. The range of the repeater/hub runs from 14.75 to 29.5 feet. Additional units can be cascaded, extending the range up to 236 feet max. Kramer's Spark-Guard Pro protects against electrostatic discharge, ensuring the safety of the unit itself and your other connected digital devices. The VS-40FW can be rack mounted - up to 3 units fit side-by-side into a 1U space (using the optional RK-3T rack adapter). The unit is powered by a 12V DC power supply or through a PC connection. - The VS-40FW is a high-performance bidirectional hub/repeater for 9-pin FireWire 800 (IEEE 1394b) signals. It increases the number of ports available and/or extends the distance of FireWire cable runs
