Product description The PC3K6 from Kurzweil is an 61-key performance controller that features a lightly weighted synth action keybed, and is loaded with a sound set that is both broad and deep, with no compromises on sound quality. The unit can also access the massive wealth of samples and programs developed over the past 18 years for the legendary K Series synthesizers.Capable of loading .KRZ/25/26 sample files, WAVE and AIFF files, as well as most of the K Series programs and setups, the PC3K6 presents a whole world of choices to players. Additionally, users can fill the 128MB of built-in flash memory with their own signature samples. Sample files can be loaded via USB from a thumb-drive or directly from a computer.User-samples do not "go away" when the keyboard is powered off. Once samples are loaded into the PC3K6's flash memory, there is zero load time for those samples when powering on the instrument. With advanced program, keymap, and sample editing features, the user is able to customize their sounds, allowing them to map any sample to any key, tune individual samples, change the start, alt start, loop point and end point of samples, and even assign a controller to adjust the sample start point in real-time.The Dynamic V.A.S.T. synthesis engine provides up to 32 layers per program. This allows for emulations of real instruments to be extremely detailed and accurate, while the synthesized sounds can be large and complex. Users can now create and store their own DSP algorithms, with nearly limitless possibilities for routing. Kurzweil has also resurrected the VA-1 Virtual Analog Synthesizer by having its synthesis engine built right into the new system. - Next generation, 61-key, lightly weighted synth action, with velocity- and aftertouch-sensitive keys, featuring a quick release spring, striking an ideal balance of playability between piano type parts and synthesizer/organ parts
- 240 x 64 angled, back-lit LCD with dedicated back panel brightness and contrast controls
- 128-Voice polyphony, dynamically allocated with lightning fast performance
- 16 parts (one per MIDI channel) multitimbral
- Dynamic VAST - powerful synthesis engine, with user programmable DSP algorithms and routing
- VA1 Inside - anti-aliasing, power-shaped oscillators and DSP processing from Kurzweil's VA1 concept synthesizer, capable of delivering authentic analog emulations as well as incredibly complex new sounds
- Cascade Mode - lets the user route one layer through the DSP of any other layer within a program, up to 32 consecutive layers deep
- 128MB of re-loadable, non-volatile, user flash ROM (loaded samples stay in memory even after power cycle)
- In addition to loading all PC3 files, the PC3K8 can load both Wave and AIFF files - can also load legacy Kurzweil .K files** from the K2000, K2500 and K2600 keyboards, including support for importing the majority of K Series keymap, program and setup data 1

Compatibility with K programs will be around 80% close - Over 850 stunning factory presets, many of which use 10 to 20 layers, featuring samples from the PC2 Base Sound, Orchestral, Classic Keys, General MIDI set, and the String Section ROM banks. - Pitch wheel, modulation wheel, 9 front panel sliders/drawbar controllers, 10 front panel switches (momentary or toggle, software selectable), 3 switch pedal input, 2 continuous control pedal inputs, mono pressure, Super Ribbon input, breath controller input. Controller values can be "captured" and stored as part of a program
- 16 full-featured independent arpeggiators with multiple latch modes, selectable play order, velocity, duration, tempo, and sync functions as well as pre-recorded beats and musical phrases
- 16 unique "Riff" generators, used for triggering MIDI sequenced phrases, beats, or complete multi-track arrangements from notes on the keyboard and/or any on-board physical controller
- 24-bit, stereo S/PDIF featuring 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4 and 192 kHz modes (externally clockable)
- MIDI In, Out, and Thru (hardware switchable to copy of MIDI Out)
- USB computer port allows for MIDI over USB and allows the PC3K to load and save data directly to and from a computer as well as perform OS updates
- USB storage port supports USB thumb-drives for loading and storing samples, programs, setups, songs and QA banks - can also be used for performing OS updates
