This drive features a USB 3.0 Type-C interface and includes both a USB 3.0 Type-C cable and a USB 3.0 Type-C to Type-A cable. The reversible USB 3.0 Type-C cable can be used whether it is oriented right-side up or upside down and the USB 3.0 Type-C to Type-A cable allows this drive to be used on systems that are equipped with USB Type-A.
This LaCie drive also features passive cooling and operates using bus power provided by its USB Type-C interface, meaning that no external power is required. It is compatible with Windows 7 and later and Mac OS X 10.5 and later. Also included is free LaCie Backup Assistant software, LaCie Public-Private software for AES 256-bit encryption (via download), and Eco Mode software for energy savings.
