Product description - SilverFast 8 Printer Calibration

The SilverFast SE Plus 8.5 Scanning Software with Printer Calibration helps to preserve your photos, slides, and film.
SilverFast SE Plus 8.5 detects the originals to scan and aligns them at a right angle automatically. The progress of processing is always visible above the preview window and the WorkflowPilot ensures the use of all tools in the correct order. The patented Multi-Exposure increases the scanner's Dynamic Range, removes image noise, and captures more details especially in dark areas of the image.
The printer calibration calibrates and reproduces an image while keeping the colors and hues as original and predictable as possible. It calibrates the printer using a flatbed scanner with colors adjusted with the included 5x7" Fuji IT8 calibration target, as a measuring device for profiling the printer. Simply print a test chart using your printer and scan this chart with your IT8 calibrated scanner. SilverFast calculates an ICC profile for your printer and the paper and ink combination.
SilverFast offers the option of editing the generated profile. Based on the generated ICC profile, a new target is printed in which the user can select the most neutral tonal values. After this, SilverFast computes a personal user profile and saves it. As a starting point, the scanner will automatically calibrate using the IT8 calibration. Afterwards, the user prints a full Gamut Printing Profile Target with over 1,000 tonal values. Once this profile target has been scanned, SilverFast will automatically generate an ICC-Profile for the selected printer, ink, and paper combination, and then store them in the system color register. This way it is guaranteed that your printer takes advantage of the entire array of colors at all times.
An IT8 5x7" Fuji reflective target is included for calibrating the scanner's reflective mode. - Compatibility
