• Supports two 10GbE through optional 10GbE PCI cards (sold separately)

• Maximum storage capacity of up 48TB with the presence of 4 SATA HDD bays. Empty bays are fitted with a drive carrier. Carrier can accommodate 2.5" and 3.5" drives.

• Server Class Hard Drives ensure higher reliability and performance. These drives are designed to better handle rotational vibration and continuous operation for mission critical applications.

• 4-drive disk packs enable expansion to 8 or 12-drive configurations.

• 4-drive configurations are preconfigured RAID 5.

• Fully populated 12-drive configurations are preconfigured RAID 5.

• Storage capacity can be added by simply adding drives in the unpopulated drive bays.

• Added drives can be brought into an existing storage pool or made into a new storage pool. Additionally, USB-connected hard disk drives can be attached and used as shares.

• It supports read and write on Fat32, NTFS, or ext2/ext3/ext4 formatted hard disks; read only of external HFS+ formatted drives.

• Supports RAID 1, 10, 5, 6, and hot spare; automatic RAID rebuild and hot swap. RAID 0 and JBOD mode also available.

• With the IVX (Integrated Virtualization Extensions) support, you can run multiple VMs (virtual machines) on a LenovoEMC device. Allows Windows apps & Linux storage to run simultaneously. It is suitable for database read-write, print server, and exchange server backup.

• SSD (Solid State Drive) support for I/O intensive applications.

• Can be fitted with solid state drives to boost performance.

• With the SSD Cache Pools support, you can set up set up dedicated SSDs for fast reads & writes of frequently accessed data, providing improved performance for I/O intensive applications such as databases. ¹

• Uses storage pools group drives of like size and RAID protection together to simplify management. You can optimize block storage performance with the dedicated iSCSI storage pools.

• Supports CIFS/SMB/Rally (Microsoft), NFS (Linux/UNIX), AFP/Bonjour (Apple), FTP, SFTP, TFTP, HTTP, HTTPS, WebDAV, Windows DFS, SNMP Network File Protocols.

• iSCSI target provides block-level access for the most efficient storage utilization, especially for backup, database, and email application performance. It can be used in parallel with file-level storage access via CIFS/NFS. Includes support for SCSI-3 persistent reservations.

• Flexible configuration with storage pools with RAID expansion, migration and hot spares, and advanced RAID levels including hot spare.

• Jobs can be scheduled to run on a predetermined schedule.

• Third-party applications can be installed using the embedded application manager.

• Data organization and access can be achieved using Windows DFS. It organizes folders and files on a network, such that they appear to be an all-in-one directory tree on a single LenovoEMC network storage device, even if the folders reside on many devices in many different locations.

• WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) enables viewing, adding, or deleting files on a Lenovo network storage device from the Web, via HTTP or HTTPS for added security.

• Power savings is achieved as it incorporates automatic hard drive spin-down that assures an efficient (minimal) power consumption.

• Using scheduled power, it will automatically power On or turn Off your LenovoEMC network storage device at a pre-selected time schedule.

• With Wake-On-LAN, your LenovoEMC network storage device powers On when a magic-packet wake-up signal is sent over the network. ²

• UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) support enables unattended system shutdown via the USB port without data loss in the case of power failure.

• Simple set up with an intuitive Web-based interface. Web interface can be accessed locally or remotely.

• Feature selection gives admin ability to customize the viewable features.

• Configuration backup and restore allows you to back up and restore system configuration information. Backing up a configuration saves various system properties, including users, groups, device identification, and share names and permissions.

• System status resource can be consolidated on space utilization, device information, and status. In addition, you can manage controls such as device restart from here.

• SMART hard drive monitor continuously monitors and reports on the health of all drives in the LenovoEMC network storage device.

• Built-in McAfee VirusScan Enterprise; LenovoEMC's px Network Storage Family includes virus scanning natively in the storage device. McAfee VirusScan Enterprise with this unit gives small businesses the ability to safely deploy network storage in places where previously there was the possibility of virus and/or malware vulnerability. McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Linux permits on-access scanning of local file systems, mounted NFS, and Samba/CIFS shares as well as a kernel-level scan cache to enhance performance. In addition, a secure browser interface with authentication and HTTPS (SSL) support is included to aid in administration. This delivers robust reporting features, including the ability to query the database by date range or individual field values, such as by virus name. Results of query can be exported to a CSV file and a diagnostic report can be generated for reporting a problem with the product.

• LenovoEMC Personal Cloud is a web-based computing architecture that connects the LenovoEMC Network Storage device to other individuals and/or devices via the Internet.

• LenovoEMC Link application gives you a direct link to your unit via your iOS or Android device. You have the ability to upload, download, browse, and copy content on your network storage device using LenovoEMC Link mobile app. ³

• Compatible with most common backup software, Web browsers, media devices, and computers.

• Certified for Citrix XenServer 5.6, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, and VMware vSphere ESX 5.1, which makes it suitable for server virtualization.

• Includes LenovoEMC storage's built-in Video Surveillance Management software.

• The Mindtree SecureMind VSMS software along with one free camera license is included and it supports up to 16 cameras. It also features built-in support for hundreds of popular IP cameras. You can record, store, and manage surveillance video. It offers support for high-definition and configurable resolution, and frame rate settings, email alerts, and secure access. ⁴

• It is a compatible disk target for Backup Exec software.

• LenovoEMC Personal Cloud Backup synchronizes data between Personal Cloud member systems and the px12-400r Network Storage.

• With the Public Cloud Backup support, you can use one of the integrated 3rd-party, cloud-based storage services such as Amazon S3 or Mozy to replicate data from your px12-400r Network Storage to your public cloud account.

• Active Snapshot (.VSS & .VDS provider).

• You can utilize 2 px12-400r network storage devices in different locations and the LenovoEMC Personal Cloud function lets you create your own disaster recovery scheme.

• EMC Atmos Cloud Connector software lets you backup and share data using this network storage device as the source and Atmos cloud technology as the target. Enabled by the integrated copy job utility, customers can set up cloud folders and configure jobs to automatically copy data to any Atmos cloud.

• With the Avamar support, this unit supports EMC's Avamar sub-file deduplication for RoBo (Remote Office/Branch Office) backup.

• PC backup with True Image Lite 2013 by Acronis (3 licenses included).

• Apple Time Machine Backup for compatible backup target.

• Total data protection using Native Security support, Encrypted volume, and User Quotas.

• Native security support with robust username and password authorized access. You can create additional users and secure their content with password protection.

• Encrypted volume allows you to create an encrypted volume with an assigned password, thus securing the data on the encrypted volume.
