Product description Intended for close to medium-range use, the matte black 1.5-5x33 VX-R Scout Riflescope from Leupold includes multiple optical technologies to produce clear and bright images without adding bulk and weight. The glass used for the lenses is lead-free to be environmentally friendly while being clear and virtually distortion-free across the entire field of view. Each optic has blackened edges to reduce glare and diffusion, and the lens faces are fully multicoated with Leupold's DiamondCoat anti-reflection coatings. These optical coatings are index-matched to increase light transmission and contrast.Leupold has outfitted this scope with their FireDot Duplex reticle. The reticle, located on the Rear (Second) Focal Plane is non-illuminated with thick outer posts that sharply taper to thin hairs in the center. An illuminated aiming point, the FireDot, in the center of the hairs draws your eye to the center of the reticle for fast target acquisition and tracking without obstructing your subject. Powered by a single CR0232 battery, the FireDot has eight intensity levels for use in all lighting conditions. To conserve power, if the rifle remains still for five minutes it switches to Standby Mode, and when the rifle is picked up or moved, it automatically turns back on. An important feature while waiting in a blind or stand. The low-profile turrets provide a sleek minimalist design while remaining easy-to-use. An impact point correction of ¼ MOA per click provides precision adjustment to get you on-target, and the 70 MOA windage and elevation adjustment range allows you to compensate for most terrain and difficult conditions. Turret caps protect the adjustment dials from damage while in the woods or at the range. In order to withstand years of use in the field and countless recoils, the housing is made of 6061-T6 aluminum with a one-piece 30mm main-tube. A hard-anodized matte-black finish resists scratches and corrosion. The optical tube is filled with a combination of argon and krypton with o-ring seals to provide water and fogproof performance. The same DiamondCoat that provides anti-reflection performance also protects the lens surfaces from scratches and abrasions. - Optical Performance
