Product description Leupold takes low-light optical performance to a new level with its 1-5x24 VX-5HD CDS-ZL2 Riflescope by combining High Definition (HD) optical glass and a Twilight Max Light management System. While the Twilight Max coatings allow full visible spectrum to pass and reduce glare, the High Definition (HD) optical glass improves detail and sharpness in generated images. The exterior optical surfaces are also treated with Guard-Ion Rain Shedding Coatings to repel water droplets and dirt and to protect against oil and fingerprint stains. To improve aiming accuracy, the 2nd image plane contains an illuminated FireDot Duplex Reticle. The reticle's pattern features four tapered posts, a thin crosshair, and a brilliant red target dot. The illumination system provides adjustable brightness and a motion-activated on/off control – the Motion Control Sensor Technology (MTS). This function deactivates after 5 minutes of inactivity and reactivates it when you move your gear again. Another highlight is the included Custom Dial System ZeroLock 2 Elevation Dial (CDS-ZL2), which enables a slip-free, lockable pinch-and-turn elevation settings that prevent accidental misadjustments.
To maintain the delicate alignment of the optical elements for years of service, the housing is crafted from 6061-T6 aluminum and features a single-piece 30mm maintube. It is waterproof, fogproof, and filled with argon/krypton mixture to reduce the effect of thermal shock and diffusion of external gasses. - Optical Performance
