Product description Leupold keeps their successful tradition of delivering state of the art sport optics alive with their persistent attention to detail, precision and quality. This American optics company, located in Portland, Oregon, pioneered the process of nitrogen purging to waterproof riflescopes in 1947. Since then and to this day Leupold continues to develop new technologies, and use advanced materials to push the envelope to produce some of the world's finest sport optics. Leupold's 2.5-10x45 VX-7 Riflescope offers astounding performance. The optical system has been fine tuned to ensure a brilliant sight picture regardless of the ambient lighting conditions while advanced fine mechanics provide durability and function with world class status. This mid-sized optical sighting system delivers excellent brightness levels during twilight while keeping the profile of your firearm trim and maneuverable. The 45mm objective lens of this scope offers a compromise between size and function; it's not quite as large as the biggest of lenses yet it produces a major increase in light transmission over scopes with smaller dimensions. Not only can you see more clearly with this scope, you'll also be able to dial in long range elevation correction for those shots that always seem to be just out of reach. The substantial and impressive 30mm main tube provides increased surface area for an extremely secure mount and 60 MOA of windage and elevation correction. Of course the scope can't do it all, you still have to do your part. You'll have to accurately calculate your range and bullet drop for the correct come-up. What this scope will do for you is provide a brilliant line of sight from first to last light, and generations of dependable service in the field. You can be confident, your Leupold is ready whenever you are. To use a riflescope with your firearm, you'll need a mounting base and mounting rings in addition to the scope itself. Bases attach to your firearm and rings attach to your scope. By affixing the scope mounted rings to the rifle mounted base you create a reliable accurate, and secure sighting system. Proper spacing of the rings, as well as the ring height should be considered to ensure a proper line of sight can be established. This will maximize the value of your investment, and enhance your shooting experience. It should be noted that in many mounting applications, a professional gunsmith's skills will be needed for proper installation. - Generous Eyebox
- Leupold has engineered the VX-7 series of riflescopes with an eyebox that is extremely forgiving. Your ability to quickly register a full & clear sight picture is greatly enhanced. Minimizing the incidence of scope shadow and blackout gets you on target fast when the situation is less than perfect.
- Fast Focus Eyepiece
- Quick focusing European style eyepiece rotates 1.5 revolutions lock-to-lock. Fast & precise focus adjustments ensure you'll be on target in a flash. The included Alumina rubber eyepiece guard protects both your forehead and the ocular from damage.
- Dual Spring Erector System
- This dual spring configuration exerts up to 30% more force upon the erector assembly to virtually eliminate backlash and stress on the internal mechanical mechanism. The result is enhanced tracking & repeatability as well as a greater lifespan for all of the internal moving parts of your scope.
- DiamondCoat 2 Technology
- DiamondCoat 2 lens coating on exterior lens surfaces delivers the greatest level of abrasion resistance & increases light transmission for greater brightness, clarity, & contrast.
- Xtended Twilight (XT) Lens System
- Index matched lens elements with wavelength specific multicoatings optimize the transmission of low-light wavelengths resulting in greater definition and luminance during twilight.
- Second Generation Waterproofing
- Leupold's proprietary blend of Argon & Krypton gasses delivers greater resistance to thermal shock than standard nitrogen purging. This science is a also a longer solution as these gasses exhibit a lower incidence of diffusion for a lifetime of crystal clear viewing under all conditions.
- Speedial Precision Adjustment System
- Rotating the integral cap 1/2 turn from its secure & locked down position facilitates your ability to pull the cap up & engage the adjustment knob for precise, tactile and audible 1/4 MOA precision adjustments. The titanium nitride & stainless steel adjustment mechanism are engineered to extremely tight tolerances and maintain a near perfect engagement of the interior surfaces of windage, elevation and parallax adjustment dials. - German #4 Reticle
- The German #4 is a traditional European style reticle with 3 heavy posts at 3, 6, and 9 o-clock. Fine cross hairs establish your point of aim for precise shot placement. The posts stand out well in low-light conditions and against heavy cover, wooded backgrounds, and shadows.
