Product description The matte black 3-9x40 VX-R Patrol Riflescope from Leupold is designed for medium-range targeting and features the Leupold Index Matched Lens System and lead free, eco-friendly glass to maximize light transmission. The rugged design is bolstered by the use of DiamondCoat protective lens coatings and water and fogproof performance is ensured by the use of an argon/krypton gas mixture.This tactical VX-R Patrol scope features a fiber optic FireDot illuminated reticle with eight variable brightness settings that illuminates an aiming dot while the rest of the reticle remains non-illuminated. This system is designed to lead your eye naturally to the center aiming point and speed target acquisition. The one-turn, extended range focus eyepiece provides a wide focus range.This scope features a proprietary TMR (Tactical Milling Reticle), an advanced system based on miliradians (Mil-Dots). The reticle stays relatively uncluttered, but is far more flexible than standard USA or USMC Mil-Dot reticles. Mils are denoted by hash marks, not dots. Between the hash marks, smaller stadia lines denote half-mils, and on the posts' outer sections smaller markings denote 1/5 mils. The posts' thickness can also be used for range estimation and the hash marks can be used for holdovers. Reticle adjustments are in 1/10th of a mil per click. Optical Performance -

- BAS (Ballistic Aiming System): takes into account the variables crucial to accurate, long-range shooting; a special ballistics indicator ring allows users to customize their power settings for their cartridge’s ballistics, then saves that setting

- Pop-Up Rezero Adjustments: finger click windage and elevation adjustments assure maximum adjustment range, precision and instant re-zeroing
- 60 MOA windage/elevation adjustment range
- Dedicated side focus parallax correction
- Reticle illumination system with 12 brightness settings
- FireDot Illumination: dot within the reticle illuminates with bright, sharp definition, while the rest of the reticle is non-illuminated
- MST (Motion Sensor Technology): a single touch of the button or twist of the dial activates the illumination. The reticle will automatically switch to “stand-by mode” after five minutes of inactivity
- One Turn, Extended Range Focus: accommodates a wider spectrum of visual acuity, even in diminishing light
