Product description A Guide to Birding with Spotting Scopes Read More This shadow gray, straight-viewing Leupold GR 20-60x80 Spotting Scope with Impact Reticle is intended to enhance accuracy while using a riflescope. In combination with a separate rangefinding device that determines distance, the impact location of a shot can be precisely determined. This information can then be quickly used to make helpful adjustments to one's riflescope.
The Impact Reticle's Minute-of-Angle (MOA) main grid is located in the front focal plane for accuracy at all magnifications. Along the top and left side of the main grid are circles spaced at 1 milliradian for mil ranging support. To provide the option of a clear view, the Impact Reticle pattern is placed below the center of the field of view, but can be fully seen by reducing the spotting scope's magnification.
Measuring 12.4" long and constructed from magnesium alloy, this durable scope incorporates a wide zoom range within a relatively compact body that can be mounted to a tripod with its 1/4"-20 threading.
The size of this GR 20-60x80 Spotting Scope is made possible due to its prismless Folded Light Path System. This system utilizes mirrors to create a Z-shaped path within the scope's housing, which significantly compresses the space needed to obtain magnification. To provide increased light transmission, clarity, contrast, and abrasion resistance, this GR 20-60x80 Spotting Scope's exterior lens surfaces feature DiamondCoat 2 coating. Additionally, coatings designed to optimize the transmission of blue and violet wavelengths that become predominant under low light are provided. These coatings help comprise Leupold's Xtended Twilight Lens System and further enhance this GR 20-60x80 HD Spotting Scope's ability to render details at dawn or dusk.
A nitrogen fill prevents fog accumulation and an O-ring sealed waterproof construction further adds to the reliability of the GR 20-60x80 Spotting Scope with Impact Reticle. - Optical Performance
