The powerful magnification range allows the viewer to scan a large field of view and then zoom in on the selected object to make detailed observations. An ergonomically-placed zoom lever allows users to make fast magnification changes while viewing through the eyepieces with a simple movement of their right index or middle finger. The large objectives and optical surface multi-coatings draw in copious amounts of light to push the low-light capabilities of the optic, while a large exit pupil at low magnification ensures complete coverage of the user's pupil when it fully dilated as light fades. The optical tubes are O-ring sealed to make them waterproof, and protective rubber armoring provide a slip-resistant grip.
