Product description The B&H Binocular Buying Guide Read More Built with an in-view compass and rangefinder and designed to be buoyant, the Levenhuk 7x50 Nelson Binocular was made to be your constant companion at the beach, in the bay, or out on the high seas. The power and aperture combination translates to an exceptionally long eye relief and wide exit pupil that help to improve comfort, minimize eye fatigue, and mitigate the disorientation that is common when looking through binoculars on rough or rolling water. Its traditional Porro prism optical path provides a rich depth of field to more easily see the relative distances between objects in your view. Using both passive and active illumination for easy viewing regardless of how much light is present, the compass enables you to take your bearings in all directions, with a reticle and calculation aids that allow you to quickly and easily estimate the distance to, and size of, objects that you're looking at.To withstand harsh saltwater marine environments, the chassis is made of a plastic that is corrosion and impact resistant, and the optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be submersible and fogproof even in extreme weather conditions. The chassis is also made to be buoyant in case the binocular accidentally goes overboard, while the included high-visibility floating neck strap makes it easy to see for a fast water rescue. Tethered objective lens caps and one-piece rainguard ensure they won't be washed away while you're actively using the binocular. For comfortable long-duration use, the Nelson is tripod mountable with an optional adapter to eliminate arm fatigue and minimize vibrations. - Optical Performance
