Product description The Levenhuk LabZZ Tellurion Mechanical Model of Earth, Moon & Sun is an invaluable teaching aid for children and adults to learn about the Earth and its relationship with the moon and the sun.This mechanical representation turns by cranking a small handle giving you the ability to slow down or speed up the rotation and orbit for education and illustrative purposes. The model clearly shows how the Earth rotates through the day, how the moon orbits the Earth, and how both orbit the sun. The model of the earth is a globe with all the continents and oceans to help teach world geography. A dial on the earth's base shows the different moon phases, and a dial on the sun's base illustrates months, seasons, and the solstices and equinoxes. Visible gears add to the experience, and an LED inside the sun illuminates the Earth and moon as the real one in the sky does to clearly show night and day on the models.
