Product description A Buying Guide for Solar and Solar Eclipse Viewing Read More Designed for beginner astronomers, the Levenhuk Skyline Travel Sun 50 50mm f/7 Refractor Telescope can be used for regular nighttime viewing or, with the simple installation of the included filter, observing the sun. The white-light filter fits on the front of the optical tube (OTA) and allows for safe viewing of sunspots, granulations, planetary transits, and all phases of solar eclipses. With the filter removed, the telescope can be used to view celestial subjects such as the moon.The OTA is attached to a manual alt-azimuth mount equipped with a slow-motion handle to increase tracking precision and reduce vibrations. Supporting the mount and OTA is an adjustable height aluminum tripod. A suite of accessories are included to enrich your viewing experiences including high and low power eyepieces, a Barlow lens that triples the power of each eyepiece, a 45° diagonal that improves viewing comfort, and a backpack to put everything in and safely transport it. - Optical Tube Assembly
