The Libec Hands-Free Monopod Kit includes a TH-X pan-and-tilt video head and bowl clamp, as well as a monopod with a tripod base. Together, the video head, monopod, and tripod base combine to create a complete, versatile, and easy-to-use support system for recording with a video camera, camcorder, or DSLR.
A flat-base, true-fluid head, the TH-X pan-and-tilt video head is compatible with tripods or support systems that feature a 3/8"-16 mount. It offers a +90°/-80° tilt angle, a 360° pan angle, a fixed counterbalance and drag mode, plus an interchangeable pan bar with a rubber grip. Both the pan and tilt movements can each be locked into place and the head's camera plate has a ±30mm sliding range. For adaptability to video tripods that utilize a 65mm bowl, the TH-X Bowl Clamp connects to the bottom of the video head using its 3/8"-16 mount.
The tripod base connects to the bottom of the monopod and features fold-out legs that when deployed, produces a 17.3" spread, forming a stable, free-standing platform. This platform allows the monopod and the camera used with it to swivel 360° independently of the video head and be tilted 20° in any direction. A foot-activated latch is positioned between the legs and the bottom of the monopod. Pressing and releasing the latch unlocks it, enabling the swivel and tilt movements for smooth angle or perspective adjustments. After recording a subject at a desired angle while gripping the monopod as well as the attached video head, the monopod can be returned to the upright position and locked into place by again pressing and releasing the latch.
When configured with its video head and tripod base, the Libec Hands-Free Monopod Kit supports up to 9 lb and measures 34.3" when folded. The monopod consists of three sections which utilize flip locks for fast deployment, and with the video head, can be positioned for a minimum height of 34.4" to a maximum height of 74.6". A rubber cover along the top section provides a secure and comfortable grip while moving the monopod, and rubber feet on the base's legs help to enhance stability on a wide variety of surfaces.
Tripod or monopod heads, as well as cameras, lenses, or sport optics that are directly compatible with a 3/8"-16 mount can be connected to the top of this kit's monopod. It is constructed from aluminum-alloy for durability while remaining lightweight, has an integrated wrist strap, and a shoulder bag with a drawstring closure that can accommodate the entire Libec Hands-Free Monopod Kit is included for storage and transport. - Use and Handling
