Product description Aerial Photography and Drone Glossary Read More With no assembly required, the LILY Next-Gen Camera Drone takes off with a simple one-touch command on your iOS or Android phone and captures up to 18 minutes of Ultra HD 4K video in your choice of multiple modes of operation. The LILY is very small — you can place it on your palm and have it lift off from there or as far as half a mile away. A one-touch command on the included app will bring LILY right back, and you can swap in another battery (two are included) and fly off for another 18 minutes.
When you send LILY off, you can control it with your phone or assign it a Follow Me mode or Object Tracking mode. These two are similar. One will have LILY follow you as you go about an activity, such as running or boating; and the other will have LILY follow someone else or a vehicle or other object. Object Tracking uses GPS and works by analyzing captured video images, but it is not an autopilot feature and does require you to watch out for obstacles as well as sharp changes in the tracked object's conditions, such as speed, direction, and sunlight illumination. If LILY loses the object being tracked, it will hover and await your next command.
LILY's camera features a Sony IMX 214 image sensor and is capable of capturing 1080p HD video and 13MP stills in addition to 4K video. It stores everything to an SD card, which can be offloaded to your computer from the LILY via a micro-USB cable. LILY is also capable of streaming live video to applications such as Facebook Live using the LILY app. In addition to the main functions, the app also provides video editing tools and allows you to create custom shots and adjust camera settings. LILY uses the free 5.8 GHz radio frequency to communicate with your phone.
Other features include Smart Hover, which keeps you stabilized in the air by helping maintain the drone's position in the wind, Geofencing, which prevents flight into restricted areas, Return Home, which brings LILY to its last known position and auto-lands it if the Wi-Fi signal is lost or the battery is critically low, and a 360° Orbit Mode that will have LILY circling the skies right above you and capturing your choice of video or stills.
LILY is designed with a midnight-black, high-strength, polycarbonate body, high tensile strength propellers, and brushed aluminum accents. It uses an optic flow and ultrasonic-positioning accelerometer and three-axis gyro magnetometer for digital stabilization in 1080p30. When you're done for the day, LILY folds up to an even smaller size for convenient transport.
