Product description The RE6500 Dual Band Wireless AC Range Extender from Linksys leverages the speed and functionality of the Wireless-AC networking standard to provide enhanced wireless data transfer rates at greater distances. In addition to Wireless-AC compatibility, this dual band range extender remains backwards compatible with IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n standards to provide a wireless connection to nearly any Wi-Fi enabled device.
The RE6500 also comes equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet ports for a fast, reliable wired Internet connection. You will also find an audio input jack on the back of the range extender allowing you to connect a speaker or stereo system. Once connected you can begin streaming audio content from smartphones, tablets, and computers connected to the network. - Extends Existing Wireless-AC Coverage
- Using the Linksys Range Extender Max, you can extend the range of your existing wireless router to create a strong Wi-Fi signal for devices in and around your home, including smartphones, tablets, Ultrabooks, and more. Greater coverage allows you to enjoy fast Wi-Fi speeds on your laptop, tablet, and other mobile devices.

- By utilizing Wireless-AC technology, the RE6500 creates Wi-Fi speeds that are up to three times faster than wireless-N. You also get double the channel bandwidth, with 80 MHz wide channels providing more room for more data to flow faster than ever.
- Works with Any Wi-Fi Router or Gateway
- Featuring wireless-AC technology, the RE6500 is universally compatible with all Internet routers, including your service provider's router. Just connect it to your network, and you can access the Internet from any device, wherever you are in your home.
- Simultaneous Dual Band Wi-Fi
- The RE6500 features simultaneous dual bands, which means it transmits at both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies at the same time. It extends 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi up to N300 Mbps + AC867 Mbps and reduces interference. So no matter which band your wireless devices use, they'll automatically connect to the best available band for the fastest possible performance.

- With Crossband technology, the dual wireless bands can now receive information on one band and transmit on the other, reducing dropped data packets and delivering a stronger, more consistent signal.

- To help protect your network and data, the RE6500 supports up to 128-bit encryption (WEP, WPA, and WPA2) and is equipped with a Wi-Fi Protected Setup button.

- Connect the antennas and power cable. Plug in the range extender midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi. Wait for a solid light on the cover of the range extender. Then, on a computer, phone, or tablet, connect to the Wi-Fi network "Linksys Extender Setup."
