Product description Losmandy designed this Pier Adapter to provide users with an additional 4" of height to make viewing more comfortable whether using refractors, reflectors, or Cassegrain OTAs. The adapter is made to fit GM-8 and G-11 equatorial mounts and installs between the tripod and mount head. Using the adapter eliminates the need to over-extend the tripod legs which can cause instability, increased visible vibration in the eyepiece, and greater potential for tipping.
