Product description The AL-Y56 Tube Microphone System from Luke Audio features a large diaphragm, tube condenser microphone with three distinctly-voiced, interchangeable, hand-built capsules. It is designed for use in pro studios, home studios, broadcast, and live applications. The system features a 6072a vacuum tube, an 11.5:1 output transformer, and a 10 dB pad. The Electro-Harmonix 6072a vacuum tube is a low-noise, dual-triode tube.The included black/white, tweed, 7-pin XLR cable comes with gold connectors and large gauge wires. The circuit consists of a polystyrene input coupling capacitor from the capsule, Elna, Wima, and Nichicon capacitors throughout, 1% resistors from PRP and Ohmite throughout, and an Erse polypropylene output capacitor pushing the custom-wound 11.5:1 output transformer. - Three distinctly-voiced, large-diaphragm, hot-swappable capsules (A1, A2, and A3)
- A1 features an edge-terminated dual backplate designed to deliver a bright, airy, and open feel
- A2 features a center-terminated dual backplate designed for a more mid-focused, punchy sound
- A3 features a center-terminated single backplate designed to yield a full-bodied, warm, vintage character
- Each capsule's backplate is precision machined and hand lapped
- Each diaphragm is made by stretching a piece of 1-micron thin Mylar and coating it with a layer of pure platinum
- Custom 11.5:1 transformer
