Product description A brilliant do-it-yourself focuser solution for those who like using visual/imaging accessories and have perhaps had problems achieving infinity focus in the past. The Lumicon Low-Profile 1.25" Focuser mounts close to the body of your Newtonian telescope, permitting plenty of back-focus space incorporated to the design. In other words, to achieve focus for visual use one would have to add a path extension tube or Lumicon's LF5010 1.25" Multiple Filter Selector. The focuser path is intentionally left too short, so that your favorite eyepiece-side devices never add too much path length to achieve infinity focus. You can slap on 3 pounds worth of stuff behind this focuser without fanfare. Installation's quite simple; 8 screws and nuts are included, and the 3" square base can be attached to your Newtonian tube with a small drill and just a few minutes of your labor. Not much to it. The Low-Profile 1.25" Focuser's truly refined; the smooth helicoid action does not shift images or present backlash, and the force required to get it going is the same amount of force required to keep it moving. There are 2 full rotations of movement to the helicoid, which takes up 1" (25.4mm) of path extension. - Extremely refined helicoid focuser action
- Broad temperature operating range
- Practically no backlash, image shifting, reverse travel, or sticking
- Focuser travel of 1" with gearing of 2 revolutions per inch
- U-groove base aligns and sits flush on all 4.5" and larger Newtonian telescopes
- 3.0 x 3.0" (75 x 75mm) Mounting base platform
- Mounting holes spaced 2.25" (57mm) apart
- Maximum recommended weight of visual accessories is 3 lbs (1365g)
