By pressing the release button at the top of the legs the legs can be collapsed again fully, or locked at any intermediate point for perfect positioning. This mechanism exerts more locking power the heavier the weight is pushing down on it from above. Other professional features include an improved minimum-maximum height range and a 90° horizontal center column feature.
The included XPRO Geared 3-Way Head can hold up to 8.8 lb while weighing only 1.7 lb. It is made from a rigid technopolymer called Adapto that maintains strength without adding excess weight.
The head features micrometric knobs, allowing you to place your camera exactly where you need it. For larger adjustments the knobs can be pressed down against a lever, unlocking the movement of each axis individually. The head has a front tilt range of -20/+90°, a lateral tilt range of -90/+30°, and a 360° pan range. - Manfrotto XPRO 3-Way, Geared Pan-and-Tilt Head with 200PL-14 Quick Release Plate This XPRO 3-Way, Geared Pan-and-Tilt Head from Manfrotto has a load capacity of 8.8 lb and can be attached to tripods or other support systems that feature a 3/8"-16 mount. It includes an integrated RC2 quick release cam lock and a 200PL-14 Quick Release Plate. RC2 compatible quick release plates such as the 200PL-14 can be removed from the head by pulling the cam lock's spring-loaded lever, which also allows the plate to be quickly reattached. The cam lock also features a safety catch to prevent the 200PL-14, or another compatible quick release plate from accidentally disconnecting.
Cameras, sport optics, or camcorders that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the quick release plate before securing it to the pan-and-tilt head. The head can be rotated 360°, tilted 90° forwards or 20° backwards, as well as 90° sideways for portrait orientation. Each of these three movements function independently of each other and have individual, spring-clamp controls. Squeezing each clamp's two handles allows the corresponding movement to be rapidly adjusted, and once the handles are released, the adjustment is locked into place. One handle on each clamp is also an integrated twist knob that allows incremental, geared adjustments, which help to ensure that any device mounted to this XPRO 3-Way, Geared Pan-and-Tilt Head is precisely positioned relative to the subject.
