Product description The black HD-CD1 High-Definition CD Player from Marantz includes a 192 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converter from Cirrus Logic, system clock, and Marantz HDAM-SA2 amplifier modules. The player uses a centralized CD mechanism for playing MP3, WMA, and AAC files as well as standard CDs. Analog audio outputs and optical and coaxial digital connections enable you to connect the player directly to the HD-AMP1 amplifier (sold separately). The HD-CD1 also incorporates the MusicLink design with an aluminum front panel, a double-layer chassis for vibration isolation, and retro-style side panels. It also includes an integral headphone amplifier with adjustable gain to drive high-end headphones for personal listening. In addition, the player also comes with a remote control. - Marantz HDAM
- The CD player features Marantz HDAM Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Modules, which are built from separate, optimized components for enhanced sound quality. The HDAM-SA2 modules provide a wide dynamic range and wide frequency response with low distortion. The HDAM technology is also used in the headphone section with its own dedicated amplification.
- Reference-Quality Digital-to-Analog Conversion
- The HD-CD1 features a high-quality CD transport mechanism, designed for accurate disc-reading, and this mechanism sends data to the player's Cirrus Logic CS4398 digital-to-analog converter. This is used together with a crystal oscillator master clock designed for low phase noise and a low impedance capacitor designed for low noise to ensure digital data is converted into an analog sound.
- Dedicated Headphone Amplifier
- The CD player features a dedicated headphone section for connecting your headphones. It has its own volume control and HDAM-SA2 amplifier with adjustable gain settings (low, medium, and high).
- Analog and Digital Outputs
- The CD player features analog outputs for use with HD-AMP1 amplifier or any other amplifier. Featuring both optical and coaxial digital outputs, the CD player can be used as a CD transport straight into the digital input on the HD-AMP1. Like the analog outputs, the coaxial digital connection uses a gold-plated RCA socket. In addition, the CD player also comes with a digital cable
- High-Current Power Supply and Vibration-Suppressing Chassis
- The HD-CD1 CD player employs extensive measures to suppress both electrical and mechanical interference. It features a high-current power supply, high-capacity storage capacitors, and Schottky barrier diodes. The player also features auto-standby and consumes less power when in standby mode. The HD-CD1 player is built on a double-layer baseplate for rigidity and vibration suppression. It also features compliant feet, solid aluminum fascia, and a rigid top-plate, and is finished with retro-style side-cheeks.
- System Remote Control
- The remote control handset supplied with the HD-CD1 player controls all the functions of player and can also drive the matching HD-AMP1 amplifier for simple system integration and convenience.
