Product description The VS-102-HDI 2.0 MP High Resolution Encoder/Decoder with HDMI from Marshall Electronics is a Full HD video-over-IP selectable encoder/decoder that is adaptable to surveillance and broadcast streaming applications. It features an HDMI input and output for connection with digital and HD devices as well as composite input and output for connection with surveillance cameras and legacy analog devices. In addition, a stereo mini jack audio input allows a separate audio source to be embedded with the video stream when using it as an encoder, and there is also a mini jack audio output for local monitoring when using the device as a decoder. Plus the audio I/O also makes two way communication possible using this system. In addition to being able to encode or decode, the unit features a USB 2.0 port so that you can connect a flash drive to record or backup the video stream.
The VS-102-HDI can encode either in H.264 or in a combination of H.264 and MJPEG for dual streaming. In addition, it offers two audio codecs, stereo AAC for broadcast applications and mono G.711 for surveillance. It can encode video at up to 1080 x 1920p at 30 fps with video bitrates going as high as 10 Mbps, or as low as 32 kbps for delivery over bandwidth-constrained networks.
In addition to streaming and surveillance monitoring, the VS-102-HDI may be configured to operate as a Point-to-Point talent monitoring system. For example, the unit can operate as an encoder to compress and transmit A/V data over a LAN to another VS-102-HDI located in a Green Room or other location. The other unit can act as a decoder which receives the compressed data through the LAN and restores the data to its original high definition state. Additionally, other computers or VS-102-HDI decoders connected to the same network can monitor both the audio and video in multiple locations throughout a venue such as dressing rooms, stage manager's room, or box office at the same time. When properly configured, the VS-102-HDI may be simultaneously monitored through the Internet.
The unit comes with a 12V power supply; however it also supports PoE (Power over Ethernet). When connected to a compatible switch, the VS-102-HDI can draw power directly from the Ethernet connection so that you won't need to worry about finding a local power source. - Configurable as encoder of decoder -- may be paired with second VS-102-HDI for point-to-point operation
- Encodes in H.264 or H.264/MJPEG dual stream
- Two-way audio communication possible
- Record or backup video to a USB flash drive
- Supports DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name Server)
- Can be operated remotely using RS-232 or RS-422/485
- Two sensor inputs and two alarm outputs
- Integrated video motion detection
- Watchdog for system recovery
- Supports transmission of Video Data through FTP server
