Product description CompressorBank Native from McDSP is a compressor plug-in for Digidesign's Pro Tools systems that has been designed to emulate the sounds of vintage and modern analog compressors. While it's true that it is possible to insert a vintage hardware compressor into an analog board, patching twenty-four or more of them, would require the financial resources of royalty - and that still doesn't address the issue of total recall.CompressorBank Native provides the user with complete control of dynamics, with common controls such as make-up gain, threshold, compression ratio, attack, and release all provided. Non-standard Knee and Bite controls allow unique articulation of compression characteristics. Multiple peak-detection circuit types provide flexibility only previously achieved by owning different compression units, while sidechain support, sidechain or inline prefiltering and a static/dynamic EQ section (post compression) round out the signal processing capabilities of a capable compressor. Note: Special pricing for registered owners of CompressorBank LE who wish to upgrade to the full CompressorBank Native version. iLok required if one is not already on the system. - McDSP engineering has developed emulations of the Teletronix LA2A, the dbx 165, the Neve 2254E/33609, the UREI 1176LN (blackface, including the 44 setting,) the Fairchild 670 and other classic high-end compressors and limiters
- In addition to the standard Threshold and Compression (ratio) controls, the actual shape and response of the compression curve can be adjusted with the Knee and Bite controls. Knee softens the compression curve, creating a smoother response. Bite gives the compressor the ability to allow signal transients to pass uncompressed, while the overall compression response is unchanged
- Using the same technology as the FilterBank plug-in (including analog saturation modeling), an included static/dynamic parametric EQ section can be applied to the compressor output, making possible effects such as signal enhancement, noise reduction, and harmonic distortion.
