Product description The Meade Instruments LX85 127mm f/6 Achro Refractor Telescope utilizes an air-spaced achromatic doublet lens system to produce bright and clear views of the moon, planets, and deep-sky objects.It is built to deliver virtually aberration-free images with its air-spaced doublet lens design and anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics. The resulting color-accurate views are crisp and sharp across the entire field of view. The large 127mm aperture produces detailed views of the moon, reveals planetary features that smaller apertures cannot resolve, and allows deep-sky objects like nebulae and galaxies to be seen. Added to this already impressive performance is a sturdy rack-and-pinion focuser that is outfitted with a 2" holder for eyepieces and accessories.This version of the LX85 achro refractor is offered here without a mount or tripod for users who already have a reliable support system and are looking to upgrade their OTA or add another to their astronomy arsenal. To make it compatible with the widest variety of mount heads, the OTA comes outfitted with a Vixen-style dovetail rail. A 1.25" reducer adapter is provided to use smaller eyepieces and accessories. To help get new users started, Meade includes a 2" diagonal and two eyepieces that produce low and high magnifications, along with an 8x50 finderscope. - Optical Tube Assembly
