Product description The Meade Series 4000 Plossl Eyepiece & Filter Set gives you three anti-reflection fully multi-coated eyepieces with large 2" barrels for a range of magnifications. Each eyepiece has a textured collar for safe handling, standard 2" filter threads, and fold-down eyecups. A 2x Barlow lens doubles the magnification potential of the eyepieces, adding even more versatility.A 90°-star diagonal is included for comfortable viewing with catadioptric or refractor-style OTAs that are aimed at or near the zenith, as are slip-fit and screw-on visual back adapters to allow the use of the kit components in most styles of focusing systems. A 1.25" reducer adapter is provided to enable you to use the smaller, more popular-sized eyepieces and accessories with 2" focusers, diagonals, and Barlows.Complementing the eyepieces are five colored filters for planetary and lunar viewing. These are the most common and useful that Meade make, including an ND96 Moon filter. The filter housings are made of anodized aluminum and the filters themselves are made of optical glass.To safely carry and store the eyepieces, Barlow, diagonal, and filters is a hard aluminum case. The case has reinforced edges and corners with a sturdy hinged handle and dual lockable draw latches. The interior has egg-crate foam on the lid, and custom-cut foam for all the set components. - 26mm focal length produces the highest (but still relatively low) magnification
- 32mm focal length strikes a balance between power and field of view
- 40mm focal length yields the lowest power with the longest eye relief and widest field of view

#12 Deep Yellow:- 74% transmission
- Use for areas of Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars
- Enhanced lunar contrast on scopes smaller than 6" aperture
#25 Red:- 14% transmission
- Blocks the transmission of blue and green wavelengths
- Use to sharply define the contrast between cloud formations and the surface features on Jupiter
- Improves the definition of the Martian polar ice caps and maria
- Reduces glare and highlights in the Venusian atmosphere
- Recommended for OTAs of 8" aperture or more
#56 Light Green:- 53% transmission
- Use to view Martian polar ice caps, and its yellow tinted dust storms
- Increases contrast of the red and blue regions in Jupiter's atmosphere and cloud belts
- Can be used for lunar observing
#80A Blue:- 30% transmission
- Enhances the contrast in Jupiter's cloud belts, and details in the Great Red Spot
- Highlights detail in Saturn's belts and polar features
- Can be used for lunar viewing
- Useful for splitting Antares
Neutral Density ND96:- 0.9 density
- 13% transmission
- Neutral color transmits evenly across the entire visible spectrum for accurate color transmission
- Ideal for viewing the moon (especially during half to full phases) or for splitting double stars
- Barlow Lens

- Makes the set of three eyepieces perform like six
- Doubles the power without significantly affecting the eye relief, so using short focal length/high magnification eyepieces is easier
