Product description The Meade Series 4000 1.25" Plossl Eyepiece & Filter Set gives you five anti-reflection multicoated eyepieces with focal lengths from 6mm to 32mm for a wide range of magnifications. Each eyepiece has standard filter threads and fold-down eyecups. A 2x Barlow lens doubles the magnification potential of the eyepieces adding even more versatility.Complementing the eyepieces are six colored filters for planetary and lunar viewing. These are the most common and useful that Meade makes. The set also includes an ND96 Moon filter. The filter housings are anodized aluminum and the filters themselves are optical glass.To safely carry and store the eyepieces, the Barlow lens, and the filters, a hard aluminum case is included. The case has reinforced edges and corners with a sturdy hinged handle and dual lockable draw latches. The interior has egg-crate foam on the lid, and custom-cut foam for all the set components. There are also three pre-cut spaces for user-supplied eyepiece. - Eyepieces

- 18mm focal length yields a lower magnification than the 13mm model, but higher than the much longer 32mm
- 32mm focal length offers the lowest power, widest field of view, and longest eye relief

- Enhanced lunar contrast on scopes smaller than 6" aperture

- Use for Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars
- Enhanced contrast of Mercury against blue sky/twilight during daytime observation
#38A Dark Blue:- 17% transmission
- Use for areas of Jupiter; Martian polar regions
- Use with scopes of 8"+ aperture
#58 Green:- 24% transmission
- Use for Jupiter, Saturn, Martian polar regions on scopes over 8" diameter
#80A Light Blue:- 30% transmission
- Most popular for Jupiter and Saturn
- Enhances contrast on lunar surface
Neutral Density ND96:- 0.9 density
- 13% transmission
- Neutral color transmits evenly across the entire visible spectrum for accurate color transmission
- Ideal for viewing the moon (especially during half to full phases) or for splitting double stars
