Product description The 2882 Expanded FireWire Digital Audio Interface +DSP from Metric Halo is a professional-quality FireWire audio interface that offers a wealth of features in a compact design. It offers 8 mic/line/instrument analog inputs and 8 1/4" balanced analog outputs. It has 24-bit/96kHz converters on each channel to provide a clean and pure digital version of your audio to a computer. In addition to the analog connectors, the interface also has AES/EBU and S/PDIF digital inputs and outputs, plus 8 channels of optical ADAT I/O, which is switchable to TOSLINK. The interface connects to your computer via one of the 2 available FireWire 400 ports, and is totally bus-powerable for terrific mobility. In addition to bus-power, the unit can also operate on battery power or wall power via an AC-to-DC adapter.
The unit features full front-panel metering and an integrated headphone amp with a front-panel mute/dim control. BNC word clock connectors let you keep perfect sync with your other pro audio devices, and a v.5 configurable mixer provides near-zero latency mixing and routing. The 2882 Expanded also has Metric Halo's unique instantiable +DSP processing, which offers a variety of instant effects that won't drain your computer's processing power. The unit has total recall with MIO Console, and has Mac OS X drivers with multi-box support. - Slim and compact design is ideal for mobile use, and can also be installed in a standard equipment rack
