About the Authors - Michael Aw, PhD
- Michael Aw is an author, explorer, photographer and conservationist. His accolades include winning more than 63 international awards and being named one of the world's most influential nature photographers by Outdoor Photography. In 2013, he was awarded the NOGI for Arts by the American Academy of Underwater Arts and Science. His essays and pictures have been featured in BBC Wildlife, National Geographic, the Smithsonian, Nature, Ocean Geographic, Times, Nature Focus and more. In 2008, he won the Peter Benchley Shark Conservation Award by Sharks Research Institute in recognition of his highly effective and unrelenting campaign against shark fin soup consumption in the Asian Pacific region. Michael is also a recipient of the prestigious WYLAND ICON award for Conservation in 2011 and 2012, and was given the Diver of the Year Award at the Beneath the Sea Festival in New Jersey. Mr. Aw has authored 30 books, including "Elysium Shackleton Antarctic Visual Epic," which is also a movie and an exhibition touring Australia. Additionally, he is a Senior Fellow of International League of Conservation Photographers and Fellow International of the Explorer Club, whose members include Sir Edmund Hillary, Roald Amundsen, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Sylvia Earle.
- Mathieu Meur
- Mathieu has been shooting underwater for over 20 years, at first free-diving and subsequently scuba diving. A true pioneer, Mathieu was one of the early adopters and promoters of digital technology for underwater photography, authoring presumably the first PADI-approved digital underwater photography specialty course in the world in 2001. He went on to contribute regular columns on photography techniques to dive and photography publications. In 2004, Mathieu co-authored An Essential Guide to Digital Underwater Photography with Michael Aw. This was the first book entirely dedicated to the techniques associated with shooting digital beneath the surface. An updated version was published in 2005. He then co-authored An Advanced Guide to Digital Underwater Photography with Michael Aw in 2007. He also wrote the first comprehensive, interactive iBook on the topic, entitled Complete Guide to Digital Underwater Photography.. Mathieu is a regular speaker at dive events and a regular judge at underwater photography competitions, and frequently coaches at underwater photography workshops.

Through the remote efforts of a Tech was able to get back online, however, "settings" are only listed 1 - 5 with no action listed as was 'visibly' available, (i.e. Scan both sides, Black and White, Color, etc.)
