Product description The Microsemi PowerDsine PD-AS-951/12-24 4-Pairs High PoE Active Splitter enables data terminals that were not originally designed to accept power from the Ethernet to be powered by PoE midspans. Using this high power splitter, devices that do not natively accept PoE power can be made PoE-ready without any modification of the terminals. Moreover, such devices may also accept lower power than standard PoE output (44V in IEEE802.3af / 50V in 802.3at). The unit physically splits the data and power streams arriving over a single cable into two separate cords (LAN & DC), which go directly to the data and power terminals of non-PoE-ready legacy devices. It also regulates the voltage to the 12/18V (user-selectable) level that is accepted by the DC terminal on the device. The PD-AS-951 high power splitter can power devices such as WiMAX CPEs, small WiMAX base-stations, 802.11ac access points, thin clients, PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) IP cameras, video phones, and more. - Enables fast and easy integration of Power over Ethernet technology into legacy equipment
- Power conversion from 48 to 12/24 VDC switchable output over 4-pairs cable
- Physically separates the combined data and power lines into two distinctive lines (DC power and LAN) for connection to the Ethernet device's terminals
- Saves installation time and allows the benefits of using one central source to power all the IP devices in the network
- Simplifies the modification of a device to make it PoE ready by eliminating the need to modify terminals
- Short circuit protection to ensure safety from erroneous connections
- Non-metallic case and internal floating power source protect the device from ground loop currents and allows two adjacent devices to share the same power source and be placed near each other
- Suitable for use with the PD-9500G family of midspans
- Can be mounted on walls or ceilings via mounting ears
