Product description The Miktek PMD7 7-Piece Drum Microphone Kit consists of four PM10 Snare/Tom Microphones, a PM11 Kick Drum Microphone, and C5MP - a matched pair of C5 Small Diaphragm Cardioid Pencil Condenser Microphones - packaged in an aluminum case.
The PM10 and PM11 microphones can withstand high SPL and easily capture the loudest drummers, while the steel grills and die-cast bodies ensure durability and reliability, night after night, while touring. The capsules' labyrinth design provides essential rear rejection for maximum gain before feedback.
The C5MP Small Diaphragm Cardioid Pencil Condenser Microphones are a matched pair of C5 mics with frequency responses matching within 1 dB. The C5 provides discerning engineers with a valuable tool for critical recording of acoustic instruments. Fitted with the MK5a 0.5” cardioid capsule, the C5 microphone produces a linear, full-bodied response. The capsule employs a 5μ tensioned Mylar diaphragm, on which a 0.5μ layer of evaporated gold is applied. Tight tolerances and special attention to precise machining of the backplate and acoustical porting allows for an off-axis response that ensures the accuracy of the microphone.
The C5’s head amplifier has been designed around the AMI T5 transformer and, together with the implementation of high-quality components including hand-selected transistors, offers a sweet response reminiscent of the iconic classic mics of the past. It is well-suited for recording acoustic instruments including violins, acoustic guitars, mandolins, dobros, brass, woodwinds, and pianos. The C5 produces superior results on drums as an overhead or hi-hat mic.
