Product description The Lens Turbo Adapter V2 for Full-Frame Minolta MD-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount APS-C Camera from Mitakon Zhongyi allows a full-frame Minolta MD-mount lens to be mounted onto a Sony E-mount camera. While doing so, the adapter approximates the lens's angle of view as if it were placed directly on a camera with a full-frame sensor while providing a 1-stop increase over the lens's aperture range.
If a lens intended for 35mm film or similarly-sized "full frame" camera sensors is connected to a camera with an APS-C sized sensor, it would project an image larger than the smaller sensor was built to accept. Able to capture only the center portion of the projected image, the effective angle of view of the lens would be narrowed, creating an in-camera "crop factor". The Lens Turbo Adapter V2 for Full-Frame Minolta MD-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount APS-C Camera condenses the light from a lens designed for 35mm film or "full frame" camera sensors and projects it onto the APS-C sensor. This allows the APS-C sensor to utilize more of the light gathered by the lens, which effectively eliminates the crop factor while making available to the sensor an additional 1 stop of light for each of the lens's f/stop settings.
This adapter is constructed from aluminum and plastic for durability while minimizing weight and its mounting rings are made of stainless steel to further prevent wear-and-tear. Inside are four lens elements, one of which is an extra-low dispersion element that helps to reduce chromatic aberrations.
When using the Lens Turbo Adapter V2 for Full-Frame Minolta MD-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount APS-C Camera, a lens placed on it is kept securely attached via a push-button, side-locking knob. This adapter does not support electronic communication between an attached camera and lens. Minolta MD-mount lenses that have their aperture settings widened or narrowed using their aperture control rings can then have those settings used with this adapter and a Sony E-mount APS-C camera set to manual mode.
While the Lens Turbo Adapter V2 for Full-Frame Minolta MD-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount APS-C Camera is intended for Sony E-mount cameras with APS-C sized sensors, it may also be placed on "full frame" Sony E-mount cameras as well. However, such cameras must be set to "crop mode" when combined with this adapter to avoid generating images with vignetting.
This adaptor may not fit all Minolta MD-mount lenses due to the degree with which rear optics may extend past the lens mount. Lenses with rear optics that extend more than 3mm past the lens mount are not recommended for use with the Lens Turbo Adapter V2 for Full-Frame Minolta MD-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount APS-C Camera, and Blackmagic cinema cameras are incompatible as well. -
- Allows a full-frame frame Minolta MD-mount lens to be used with a Sony E-mount APS-C camera
- Combination of adapter and full-frame frame Minolta MD-mount lens provides approximately the same angle of view with a Sony E-mount APS-C camera as if lens were placed on a full-frame sensor camera
- Provides a 1-stop increase for the camera over the lens's aperture range
- Aluminum and plastic components for durability and weight reduction
- Stainless steel mounting rings further prevent wear-and-tear
- Side-locking knob for secure attachment of lens
