Product description Archive your data for years to come with the mTape LTO-8 Thunderbolt 3 Archiving Drive from mLogic. This portable desktop tape drive writes to both LTO-7 and LTO-8 tapes, which are designed to have a shelf life of more than 30 years. Equipped with a pair of Thunderbolt 3 ports, the mTape LTO-8 desktop drive can write up to 12 TB of data per tape cartridge, with a maximum data transfer rate of 300 MB/s. Certified by Apple and Intel, the mTape drive is compatible with Mac and Windows systems. The YoYattaID LTFS software utility for macOS comes bundled with the drive. - Design Features
- mTape features a compact form factor with aluminum construction that is ideal for mobile applications. The DC-powered drive can be used in a variety of environments, from a studio to a remote location.

- You can use the drive with many LTO archiving and media management software utilities for macOS and Windows, including Axle from Axle Video, P5 from Archiware, PreRoll Post from Imagine Products, Silverstack XT from Pomfort, Retrospect, CatDV from Square Box, DNAevolution from StorageDNA, XenData6 Workstation, and YoYottaID LTFS. The YoYattaID LTFS software utility for macOS comes bundled with the drive.

- The mTape drive ships with a simple drag-and-drop Linear Tape File System (LTFS) archiving and retrieve utility. To ensure that the data you archive is an exact replica of your source material, the utility uses xxHASH64 verification. Detailed transfer logs are also generated with every archive.
