Product description Made for digital imaging technicians (DITs) working on pro photo and video productions in the field, the ThunderPack Portable DIT Base Station from MotionFX provides a portable solution which combines fast Thunderbolt RAID storage, power management, battery power, custom AV I/O configuration, and networking, all within a compact and durable package. Once set up, the ThunderPack becomes the center for your production, and after the day is done, it compacts into a sealed, rolling, and impact-resistant case. The full setup is small enough that it can be comfortably transported by a single person. Features - Thunderbolt Storage
- Connect your computer via a single Thunderbolt terminal to gain access to all of the functionality of the ThunderPack. With 20 2.5" drive slots available for storage, you should have no problem storing sound, image, and other media files for use on set. Video DITs can transfer and store hours of uncompressed or raw footage for creating dailies or even a preliminary online edit with data transfer speeds greater than 700 MB/s. Photo DITs can immediately begin organizing or working on high-resolution raw photos from a tethered digital camera or digital back while the photographer is still shooting. This ThunderPack configuration comes with 20 2.5" aluminum HDD canisters to fit hard drives of your choosing.
- Advanced I/O
- Not only for storage, the ThunderPack provides access to extra I/O by way of a custom payload bay for adding your own hardware to conform with your specific workflow. Six Neutrik outboard connections provide access to any I/O on the device you use while keeping the device itself protected. Multiple devices can be used, provided they can fit in the space; for example a Fujifilm LUT Box can be used alongside a Blackmagic Design Ultrastudio Mini while keeping all of the connections topside. Additional interfaces for data include SAS connections for LTO-6 archival storage and RJ45 gigabit Ethernet connections for expanding your on-site network. USB 3.0 connections are also available for flash drives, portable hard disks, and other peripherals.
- Advanced Power Options
- ThunderPack systems can have up to 588 Wh of battery power provided by six separately available hot swappable 98 Wh lithium-ion battery packs. These packs supply power for the internal electronics, and via the DC rail outputs, a wide range of external devices such as laptops or battery chargers can be connected. Peak loads of up to 480 watts are supported. For power autonomy, a solar power input allows for operation in remote regions.
- Wi-Fi Connectivity
- Using an integrated router, the ThunderPack can create its own wireless network providing means of communication for all Wi-Fi enabled devices on set. Now that many devices can take advantage of, or even require, a Wi-Fi connection for operation, the ThunderPack acts as a central base of communication for controlling and communicating with those devices.
- Pelican Case Enclosure
- When not in use, the main unit of the ThunderPack can be completely enclosed in the included Pelican case. When sealed, the case protects the ThunderPack unit from inclement weather and is rated to remain waterproof for up to 30 minutes at depths of 3'.
