Product description Machined of aluminum, this Movcam Cage is formfitting to securely hold the Sony a7S. Having the a7S inside the cage protects it from the rigors of professional production while providing extra mounting versatility for grip equipment and accessories. Around the camera's controls the cage has openings for access and visibility and the electronic accessory shoe is also left open for attaching Sony audio accessories. The cage's surface is peppered with 1/4"-20 tapped accessory holes along the sides, the front, the top, and on the included removable top-handle. 3/8"-16 tapped holes can also be found on the top-handle. The top handle has a single 15mm rod clamp for mounting an EVF, a monitor or a recorder. Furthermore, two cold-shoe mounts, one on the top handle, the other on the cage itself, are available for other shoe-mounted accessories. For an added measure of protection, an HDMI cable clamp secures an HDMI cable connected to the camera to prevent damage to the cable and the HDMI port. The bottom of the cage is open around the battery access door and has 1/4"-20 tapped holes for connecting to tripod plates, jibs, stabilizers, or other grip equipment. With the optional riser block and LWS baseplate, the cage will accept 15mm rods for building a full 15mm LWS setup using separately available lens accessories and matte boxes.
