Product description A Buying Guide for Solar and Solar Eclipse Viewing Read More Use Mr. Star Guy's 86-117mm Adjustable Objective White Light Solar Filter to adapt your nighttime refractor telescope to safely view the sun, and on camera lenses without front filter threads or when conventional screw-on filters are unavailable. Outfitted with three thumbscrews for a secure and centered fit, this filter is designed to fit over the entire objective bell so for the correct fit simply measure the outside diameter of the bell — including hardware like retaining rings and screw heads — and choose the size that matches the measurement with some extra room. This model is made to fit objective bells measuring 86-117mm (3.385-4.606").EN 1836:2005 + A1:2007 certified for safe direct solar viewing, the filter blocks greater than 99.99% of the intense visible white light from the sun plus 100% of harmful ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) radiation. The filter is made of a durable acrylic resin that delivers high-contrast images of the Sun with a neutral color balance revealing the Sun in white, as opposed to the more common red or blue seen when viewing through other solar filters, which restricts bands of the visual spectrum and inhibits clear viewing. The filter housing is made of a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy with a scratch-resistant anodized finish.
