Product description The X470 Gaming M7 AC AM4 ATX Motherboard from MSI is built on the AMD X470 chipset, supporting AMD Ryzen series and A-Series/Athlon processors with an AM4 socket. It has four DDR4 slots that can hold up to 64GB of dual-channel RAM at speeds of up to 3600 MHz when overclocked. For storage, there are six SATA III ports and two M.2 slots, one of which can operate at speeds of up to 32 Gb/s when used with a compatible NVMe drive. It's also equipped with two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots for dedicated GPUs as well as one PCIe 2.0 x16 and three PCIe 2.0 x1 slots for additional PCIe-based hardware. Other notable features include Realtek ALC1220 7.1-channel HD audio, Killer E2500 Gigabit LAN, 802.1ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and MSI Mystic Light RGB lighting. - Mystic Light RGB
- The X470 Gaming M7 AC is built with RGB lighting that you can customize using MSI's software. Choose from multiple lighting effects and millions of colors to fit your style, and even sync it with other RGB-compatible product with Mystic Light Sync.
- Cooling
- This motherboard is built with six fan headers that support both DC and PWM modes for cooling your system. Once connected, the fans can be adjusted in BIOS or with a third-party software to your preferred speed, so you can find a perfect balance between noise and cooling performance.
- AMD CrossFire Support
- If you aren't getting the graphical fidelity and frame rates you want in your games, you can install additional graphics cards on this motherboard for enhanced performance. It supports up to 2-way NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossFire and 3-way AMD CrossFire. Please note that Ryzen desktop processors support up to 3-way CrossFire whereas Ryzen desktop processors with Radeon Vega graphics and A-Series/Athlon processors only support up to 2-way CrossFire.
- Storage
- There are six SATA III ports on this motherboard designed for traditional 2.5" and 3.5" drives. Moreover, it's also equipped with two M.2 slots, one of which can utilize the PCIe 3.0 x4 interface for speeds up of up 32 Gb/s when used with a compatible NVMe drive. For an additional boost in performance, you can enable X-Boost within MSI's software. Additionally, MSI X470 motherboards include STOREMI, AMD's SSD technology that improves storage performance.
- Audio
- MSI Audio Boost consists of both hardware and software additions that are designed to provide you with a high-quality listening experience. The left and right channels are built on separate PCB layers, De-Pop Protection prevents loud popping noises, an EMI-shielded audio processor ensure clean stereo and surround sound, and a dedicated headphone amplifier automatically detects the optimal impedance for your headphones. For gaming, Nahimic 3 provides you with virtual surround sound with an in-game overlay that displays where noises are coming from.
- Memory
- The DDR4 memory slots on this motherboard are built with an optimized memory layout to offer stability, performance, and low power consumption. Additionally, this motherboard supports XMP for enhanced RAM speeds. Please note that A-series/Athlon processors support up to 2400 MHz, and the supporting frequency of memory varies with installed processor.
