Product description The EVH117 Flanger from MXR is a variation of the classic MXR Flanger pedal that was introduced in the '70s and prominently featured on many recordings, offering a variety of analog sweeping space sounds and dynamic jet plane effects, short delays, chorus, and vibrato. The original modulation effect became a staple of many guitarists' rigs, and an integral part of the early Van Halen sound. This new customized version of the original MXR Flanger was developed as a collaboration between guitarist Eddie Van Halen and Dunlop's engineering team. Along with all of the same standard features of the original, the EVH117 offers a special EVH switch that instantly calls up Eddie's personal settings for "Unchained." Simply hit the switch for the same legendary effect! Like the original MXR Flanger pedal, the EVH117 features the same bucket-brigade technology to provide its magical sounds, and includes four tweakable parameters for conjuring up a plethora of effects and tonal textures: Manual sets the degree of phase shifting, Width adjusts the intensity of the time delay, Speed regulates the speed of the time delay, and Regeneration controls the intensity of the overall effect. The EVH117 Flanger is built inside a die-cast housing that's painted with EVH-style black and white striped graphics. A footswitch toggles the effect on or off, and a red LED indicates when the effect is on. A separate green LED indicates when the EVH switch has been engaged. The pedal is powered by two 9V batteries or an 18 VDC adapter such as the Dunlop ECB004/ECB004E, or Dunlop DCB10 Brick power supply (sold separately).
