Product description The MXR MC406 CAE Buffer is designed for guitar players and bassists who utilize long cable runs in their playing setup, though it also is useful for instrumentalists using heavy effects chains. In these cases, there’s often signal degradation. Placing this unit at the front of your chain will mitigate these issues.Other features have been packed into the CAE buffer. For instance, a front-facing slider can add up to +6 dB of gain to your signal; this can make up for any loss of gain that might accrue over an effects chain. Also offered are high- and low-cut switches for attenuating potentially unnecessary high and low frequencies. You’ll also find two outputs on the device. One will always carry buffered signal, while the other can be configured by an internal switch to route either buffered or unprocessed signal. You can use this output to feed a tuner, a separate effects chain, or a different amplifier.The CAE can receive either buffered or unbuffered signal, and accepts power from a Dunlop ECB003 AC adapter, a Dunlop DCB10 Brick power supply, or any other compatible, regulated 9 VDC power supply.
