Product description Make discoveries and capture your data using the National DC-128 Biological Monocular Microscope. This microscope features a 45° inclined monocular eyepiece, a 3.0 MP CCD internal imaging sensor, a precision mechanical stage, and fine and coarse focusing. To provide quality images for viewing and storage, this optic offers four color-coded DIN parfocalled and parcentered objectives: 4x, 10x, 40xR, and 100xR. All of these objectives deliver achromatic performance, which means they generate clear, crisp, and vivid images with reduced color distortion and high contrast. The 100xR objective ought to be used with special immersion oil in order to achieve maximum resolution and to prevent lens damage; it comes very close to your slide when reaching a maximum focus. In addition, the objectives can be seamlessly interchanged with other DIN objectives of your preference. The nosepiece houses a 4-hole ball-bearing turret that allows smooth and precise switching of objectives. Also noteworthy is the 4.75 x 4.75" mechanical stage with a lockable specimen bracket, Vernier controls (for positioning your samples with high precision), and tension adjustments to prevent drift. To ensure that the images of your samples are always bright and clear, located under the stage is the LED illuminator with a 1.25 NA Abbe condenser. The illuminator is controlled by a dedicated master on/off switch located on the base and has a rheostat intensity control knob for brightness control. For cordless operation, the device's base houses three rechargeable AA batteries that can be charged with the included wall charger. For achieving the highest results possible, the low-position focusing offers coarse and fine controls with rack and pinion mechanics. The housing is made of cast metal and will serve reliably for years to come. It offers a wide and stable base and an arched back that can be used as a carry handle. - Optics, Imager, Focusing & Illumination
