Product description Built with four 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, each of which has its own dedicated controller, the MAXPower 4-Port USB 3.1 Gen 1 PCIe Card from NewerTech allows users to connect four USB 3.1 Gen 1 or USB 2.0 devices to their compatible Windows 7 and later or Mac OS X 10.8.5 and later system using a PCIe 2.0 x4 slot, although PCIe 1.0 x4 will work as well. As each port has its own dedicated controller, that means that each port has 5 Gb/s of dedicated bandwidth, as compared to 5 Gb/s being shared between four ports. This card can drive read speeds up to 350 MB/s and write speeds up to 333 MB/s. It can be used to connect to external drives, docks, drive enclosures, printers, scanners, mice, trackballs, flash drives, card readers, and more. It also supports USB battery charging with the USB BC 1.2 spec, which provides a total of 24W (5V / 4.8A) of power, with each port having access to 5V / 1.2A. If you'd like to use devices with this card that aren't USB Type-A, the MAXPower supports adapter cables for other USB peripherals, such as USB Type-C. General Features - Adds four female USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports to expand your system so it can handle more devices
- Works with most devices that have a male USB Type-A interface
- USB devices that don't have a Type-A port can be used with an adapter
- Up to 5 Gb/s of bandwidth per port
- Up to 10W of power per port for using USB devices, such as external storage an optical drives
- Sleep / Hibernation Support
- If using a Mac, you may experience disk ejections when waking from Sleep mode. This is a known issue that occurs when using add-on PCIe cards with the Mac operating system. It is suggested that you manually eject USB devices prior to enabling Sleep mode on a Mac. This issue is not present with Windows
