Product description The 4x GEN 2 BW Argus 740 Night Vision Rifle Scope with illuminated reticle from Night Optics features black and white imaging with Generation 2 intensifier tube, multicoated high performance optics, and a waterproof and fogproof housing. While Generation 2 tube provides the higher quality images and delivers much higher resolution and clarity than Generation 1 and 2 tubes, optical elements with multiple anti-reflection coatings provide high optical transmission which improves brightness. With white phosphor technology, the intensifier tube generates black and white images which are more natural to view and capture than green images. The 4x magnification lens system enables you to make observations with angular field of view of 10°. To enable you see bright images regardless of ambient light, this rifle scope is equipped with a large 100mm focal length objective for gathering more photons and can be outfitted with optional infrared illuminator for additional illumination of targets. To help your shooting precision, there is red and amber Mil Dot reticle with variable illumination brightness.
Beyond these optical highlights, the scope has a manual gain control and a Bright Light Cut-off function. The manual gain control helps to regulate image brightness and detail in various illumination settings and to accommodate for personal preferences. The Bright Light Cut-Off turns off the tube when it is exposed to light intensities above allowable threshold limit. This serves two functions: one, to protect the intensifier tube from over-exposure damage or burn out; and two, to protect your eyes from flash blindness due to a sudden burst of light. To account for projectile motion and drift due to wind, the scope has windage and elevation adjustments with anti-dust turret caps.
The scope also features a diopter adjustment, a wide rubber eyeguard, a recoil-resistant water and fogproof housing which is compatible with optional quick release picatinny mount. Also included with this NVD are two AA batteries, a hard carrying case, and a protective objective lens cap. - Optical Performance
