Product description Optimized to provide a normal 50mm equivalent field of view, the black 1 NIKKOR 18.5mm f/1.8 Lens from Nikon is designed to give the Nikon 1-series digital camera a natural perspective of the human eye. The ultra-fast maximum aperture of f/1.8 makes this lens a great choice for low-light photography, and when shot wide open, is capable of exceptionally shallow depth of field. Also, it utilizes one aspherical element to control distortion and aberrations and has a rear focusing AF system. The lens will focus as close as 7.9" and can use 40.5mm threaded filters. Additionally, it has a rounded 7-blade diaphragm for smooth other of focus elements. - Ultra-Fast Maximum Aperture
- The speed of a lens describes its maximum aperture. The larger the aperture, the more light it lets in and, therefore, the faster the lens. At f/1.8 this lens's speed opens up new opportunities for low-light and high-speed shooting. When shooting at f/1.8, your photos and videos have extremely shallow depth of field, which means your subject will be in perfect focus, but the background will be softly blurred.
