Product description The B&H Binocular Buying Guide Read More The 8x42 Osprey ED Binocular from Olivon uses a fully multicoated extra-low dispersion (ED) lens system and phase-corrected BaK4 prisms to render contrast-rich images with enhanced detail and color fidelity. ED glass elements transmit light more efficiently than standard optical glass, resulting in bright images and improved low light performance. This configuration of the Osprey ED features a 50° apparent viewing angle and has the ability to focus within nine feet. These optical features help to make the 8x42 binocular well-suited for close to mid-range observations.Osprey ED series binoculars are also prepared to handle demanding weather conditions. Complementing the high-transmission optical path is a nitrogen-filled fogproof housing that is submersible to one meter for three minutes. The housing is made of a lightweight polycarbonate and wrapped with a slip-resistant rubber armor. Twist-up rubber eyecups with multiple click-stop positions, along with the 18mm eye relief, deliver a comfortable viewing distance even for eyeglass wearers. The combination of high-transmission optics, user-friendly features, and a weather-sealed housing make the Osprey ED binocular ready for a wide range of outdoor viewing tasks. - Optical Performance
